Quick tip: Redirect Gmail to Inbox in your browser

Gmail and Inbox by Gmail are providing access to the same email service, but in different ways. If you’ve found that you prefer the way Inbox handles your mail, task list, and other reminders, then you have probably started using it as your primary email client. However, you may also still be in the habit of typing Gmail.com to access your email.

Google now offers a setting you can toggle that will take you to Inbox when using the Gmail URL. Here’s how to set it up:

  • Open Inbox through its regular URL (inbox.google.com) in your browser.
  • In the left-hand menu, scroll down and click on Settings.

  • Choose Other on the left-hand side, then check the box next to Redirect Gmail to inbox.google.com.

If you still want to use the original Gmail interface, you can click the Gmail link in the menu on the left.

Which interface do you prefer, and why? Share your thoughts in the comments.
