Use the Samsung Galaxy S6’s fingerprint scanner to log into websites

You probably know that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and
S6 Edge
‘s fingerprint scanner lets you unlock your phone without a passcode. But there’s another, lesser-known way to use the fingerprint scanner: to log into websites.

Note that as of now, the feature only works with the stock Browser app, not third-party apps like Chrome or Firefox. Here’s how to set it up.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Fingerprints. Enable Web sign in.

Step 2: Using the Browser app, head to any website and log in as usual. When you do, a pop-up will appear with a checkbox enabling Web sign in. Check the box and continue. Repeat the same process for any other websites you’d like to log into with your fingerprint.

Step 3: To test it out, log out of a website you set up in Step 2. You’ll be asked to scan your fingerprint at the log-in screen.
