How to remove the Briefing screen from the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge

When you’re viewing your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge home screen, you can view what Samsung is calling the Briefing screen by swiping to the right.

This last panel is nothing more than a glorified Flipboard feed, and a slow one at that. I’ve yet to experience a smooth transition when opening or closing it.

Thankfully, you can disable it with just a few taps in a couple of seconds.

Long-press on a blank area of your device’s home screen. After a few seconds thumbnails for each panel will show up; swipe to the right until you can see the Briefing panel.

At the top of the panel is a check box, tap on it to remove the check mark. Once it’s removed, press the home button on your device.

If you change your mind down the road, you can always repeat the process and check the box to reactivate the feature.
